PENETRATION TESTER

Standard responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on internal and external systems, networks, and applications to identify security vulnerabilities.
Utilize a variety of tools and techniques to simulate real-world cyber attacks, including but not limited to, network scanning, web application testing, and social engineering.
Document and report findings, including detailed descriptions of vulnerabilities, their potential impact, and recommended remediation steps.
Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize and address identified vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
Stay up-to-date on the latest security trends, threats, and vulnerabilities, and actively participate in knowledge sharing and training activities.

Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in penetration testing or related cybersecurity roles.
Proficient in at least one or more scripting languages (i.e., bash, python, PowerShell, ruby, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and attack vectors, as well as countermeasures and best practices for mitigation.
Hands-on experience with penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark etc
Experience employing advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, including dead system analysis and volatile data collection and analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively to identify and exploit vulnerabilities.
Familiarity with best practices frameworks such as OWASP, OSSTMM, or PTES
Relevant certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
