COMPLIANCE OFFICER

As the compliance officer for Chile, reporting directly to the global director of compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that Cuatrecasas Chile complies with the current laws and regulations in general, and those relating to anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (“AML/CFT”) in particular, meeting both corporate requirements and local regulations. Your duties will also include applying the firm’s internal regulations to its practice in Chile.

DUTIES

The main functions are:

Assist in designing, implementing and maintaining AML/CFT and crime prevention systems.
Conduct risk assessment and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance, according to the analysis methodology established by the firm.
Assist in client identification, analysis and acceptance in compliance with domestic and Spanish AML/CFT regulations, as well as third-party identification and analysis relating to the crime prevention program.
Monitor and update globally implemented compliance policies and procedures, keeping them aligned with current regulations. Monitor the effectiveness of the controls.
Provide support in processes to remedy findings, shortcomings and weaknesses of control identified in the internal control systems, and ethics and compliance programs, of Cuatrecasas Chile.
Prepare internal and external reports, ensuring clear and precise communication with the relevant regulatory bodies.
Liaise with the office’s partners and lawyers to communicate internal regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Laws.
A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as compliance officer in consulting firms, law firms, or providing professional services
Specific training in AML/CFTV and crime prevention preferred. Knowledge of data protection regulations.
Experience in designing and implementing AML/CFT and crime prevention systems, conducting risk assessment, preparing training and adapting internal regulations from the headquarters to local legislation.
Familiarity with international compliance regulations and standards.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with different hierarchical levels in the firm. Ability to work in dynamic and intercultural environments.
