The Role
The Franchise Compliance Coordinator will assist in managing compliance tasks and support the execution of compliance strategies within the business. You will work closely with various teams, including Franchise Development & Compliance, Marketing, Operations, Business Development, and HR, to ensure compliance obligations are met efficiently and accurately. You will assist with workplace audits, compliance escalations, drafting compliance notices, and supporting key projects, all while helping maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
You will be proactive and detail-oriented and support our Compliance Manager in administering and monitoring compliance-related tasks seamlessly across the business. You will assist in compliance programs that promote transparency, accountability, and operational excellence across the brand, which will enable us to maintain the strong reputation Anytime Fitness has built as a trusted and reliable fitness provider.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace Audits & External Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Administer regular Workplace Audits (two per year), working alongside the Compliance Manager and liaising with external stakeholders to ensure audits are conducted accurately and on time.
- Maintain the relationship conduit with external stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication regarding audit results and required actions.
Unopened Territory Compliance Escalation
- Support the Compliance Manager in handling Unopened Territory Compliance Escalations, helping to track and resolve compliance issues that arise in these areas.
Reporting & Tracking
- Assist in reporting and tracking compliance-related activities and deadlines, ensuring all tasks are completed within the required timeframes.
- Provide regular updates to the Compliance Manager and senior leadership team regarding compliance progress, risks, and escalations.
Compliance Notices & Templates
- Draft compliance notices using established templates for review and dissemination by the Compliance Manager.
- Ensure all notices are clear, accurate, and compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
Franchise Development & Compliance Team Support
- Provide administrative and compliance support to the broader team, assisting with any compliance-related matters in the development process.
- Help track and manage compliance obligations related to franchisees and site developments.
Club Refreshes
- Assist in monitoring and supporting overdue Refresh Obligations, ensuring that any overdue actions are escalated and addressed appropriately.
- Provide support to the Refresh Taskforce in coordinating actions and maintaining an up-to-date record of overdue obligations.
- Support the team with any compliance-related tasks, ensuring all refresh obligations and compliance requirements are met on time.
Minor Membership Audit Process
- Assist in the Minor Membership Audit process, helping with documentation, tracking, and reporting on findings.
- Support the development and implementation of any audit recommendations, including timing and scope.
Regular Audit Process & Escalation Pathways
- Oversee the regular audit process, ensuring compliance is maintained throughout the business.
- Support the Compliance team in managing subsequent escalation pathways, ensuring issues are addressed and resolved promptly.
Marketing Compliance Support
- Assist the Marketing team with compliance by supporting the Marketing Engagement frameworks and ensuring all marketing activities comply with relevant laws and company policies.
- Liaise with the Marketing and Operations teams to assess whether any marketing activities require escalation for non-compliance.
- Draft compliance notices from templates in response to marketing issues and escalations.
Other

About You

Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a compliance, regulatory, or administrative role. Previous experience in franchising or the fitness industry is a plus.

Education: Tertiary qualifications in business, law, or a related field (desirable but not essential).

Attention to Detail: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance issues clearly and effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with compliance management software is a plus.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify compliance issues and work collaboratively to resolve them efficiently.

Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a proactive approach to managing compliance projects.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to upholding compliance standards across the business.
