We have got an exciting opportunity for Compliance Officer to be part of our team at VU Sydney/Brisbane. The role will be in our Sydney Campus office.
Victoria University (VU) Sydney's partnership with the Education Centre of Australia (ECA) - dating back more than a decade - offers internationally recognised and industry relevant courses to international and domestic students. Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Student Administration Coordinator, the role has key responsibility to support the compliance process and provide additional support across all student administration processes comprising course variations, non-engagement, academic progression, course completion, and any other related services for Victoria University Sydney and Brisbane.
Accordingly, the role is responsible to provide a wide range of student administration services, not limited to:
- Planning and overseeing the effective implementation of quality assurance processes, development of process manual with procedures, workflows and communication templates, and coordinate internal audit process, related to Student Lifecycle to ensure VU Sydney and VU Brisbane remain compliant with the legislative frameworks as well as relevant policies of Victoria University.
- Ensuring student course variations for VU Sydney and VU Brisbane are processed within timeframes as per prescribed standards by regulatory framework, relevant policies of Victoria University as well as service delivery expectations set by the organisation.
- Planning and delivering training as appropriate to support VU Sydney and VU Brisbane staff to be compliant of relevant student administration related processes under the ESOS Act 2000 and National Code 2018.
- Preparing and presenting compliance reports in relation to Student Administration.
- Planning and implementing necessary automation to streamline VU Sydney and VU Brisbane compliance function to manage the processes in an effective and efficient manner.
- Ensuring that records pertaining to compliance and student course variations are maintained accurately on VU Student System, VU Sydney and VU Brisbane Systems and PRISMS.
- Delivering excellent customer service with prompt and appropriate resolution for telephone, email and face-to-face inquiries, including guidance in submission of student administration related applications.
- Engaging in student facing communication and providing effective resolution to student issues.
- Providing project support in relation to compliance and other student administration functions.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate stakeholder engagement for provision of continuous improvement in student administration services.
- Undertaking any additional tasks deemed appropriate to the role.

- Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
- Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant work experience in the education sector.
- Knowledge of the international student lifecycle, from commencement to graduation.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, equity and workplace health and safety principles.

- Demonstrated experience of at least 1 year in a similar role in education sector.
- Demonstrated experience of working with student management databases and electronic systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the ESOS Act 2000, National Code 2018 and associated legislation.
