DescriptionRole Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Privacy Lead to join our team, serving a major consumer health client. The Privacy Lead will be responsible for managing a global team of privacy professionals while ensuring the effective delivery of privacy services, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Individual Rights Requests (IRRs), and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs).
This is a leadership role within the compliance organization, where you will play a key part in managing a global team of privacy professionals, presenting to senior leadership, generating key metrics and reports, and serving as the point of escalation for critical privacy issues. You will proactively spot privacy risks, research new privacy regulations, and ensure the overall enhancement of the client relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage a global team of privacy professionals, ensuring high performance and effective delivery of privacy services.
- Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs): Lead and oversee the development and implementation of Privacy Impact Assessments for various projects and initiatives.
- Individual Rights Requests (IRRs): Ensure timely and accurate handling of individual rights requests in accordance with global privacy laws.
- Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs): Oversee the execution of Transfer Impact Assessments related to cross-border data transfers.
- Operational Leadership: Serve as an operational lead within the compliance organization, ensuring effective execution of privacy programs and strategies.
- Client Interaction: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, working closely with stakeholders to address privacy concerns and provide strategic guidance.
- Metrics and Reporting: Generate privacy-related metrics and create comprehensive reports for senior leadership and key stakeholders at regular intervals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date on global privacy laws and regulations, particularly the GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection frameworks, and contribute to the application of these laws to client operations.
- Documentation and Training: Create client-facing documentation, guides, and training materials to support privacy initiatives and enhance compliance efforts.
- Problem Resolution: Serve as the point of escalation for complex privacy-related issues, identifying root causes and driving solutions in a timely manner.
- Proactive Risk Management: Spot emerging privacy risks, advise senior leadership on mitigation strategies, and consult on best practices to enhance data protection.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A privacy and/or legal education with a focus on data protection and privacy laws.
- Experience: Extensive and demonstrable experience in privacy management, including:
- Admin-level setup and use of OneTrust software (rules, templates, etc.)
- Leading Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs)
- Managing Individual Rights Requests (IRRs)
- Global privacy laws expertise (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Team management experience in a remote and/or global setting
- Presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership
- Ability to generate metrics and create detailed reports for leadership
- Experience in creating client-facing documentation and privacy guides
- Strong research skills for staying current on emerging privacy regulations and trends
- Language Skills: Strong written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional) or equivalent certifications in privacy and data protection.
- Software: In addition to OneTrust, experience with ClickUp is a plus.
- Industry Experience: Experience working in consumer healthcare or pharmaceutical compliance is a plus.
