Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain physical and virtual servers.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Implement and manage regular backups and disaster recovery processes.
- Maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance.
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and applications.
- Provide technical support to end-users, including training and troubleshooting.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for reference.
- Manage network devices and ensure connectivity between systems.
- Collaborate with development and network teams to streamline operations.
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools for efficiency.
- Conduct regular system audits and prepare reports on findings.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and password resets.
- Test and deploy patches and updates for all systems.
- Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.).
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Willingness to participate in on-call support as needed.
