- The opportunity to make an impact on complex strategic situations at the nexus of the media, financial, legal, and corporate worlds.
- An environment with colleagues and mentors who operate at the highest levels of the communications field and prioritize junior development and support.
- A flat, merit-based structure that prioritizes autonomy and offers a platform for young professionals to both learn and stretch to new levels of responsibility.
The position: We are seeking high-achieving Summer Analysts with interests in communications, media, law, finance, and capital markets to join our New York office in the summer of 2025. Our interns gain exposure and training in our practice areas and with clients across industries in connection with nuanced and interesting business challenges that are critical, timely, and often news-making. Our Summer Analysts receive training throughout their internships, work with client teams to build a deep understanding of strategic communications, and benefit from mentorship from senior staff members:
- Serve directly as part of our client teams across a range of interesting practice areas (such as M&A, crisis management, investor relations, etc.) on engagements that are often fast-paced and address business-critical issues.
- Prepare media lists, reporter backgrounders, and conference/events calendars, while supporting development of other key communications materials (e.g., press releases, memos, talking points, FAQs).
- Work with our global Knowledge, Insights, Research, and Analytics (KIRA) Team to learn how to leverage sophisticated research and data capabilities to create customized intelligence on reputational and communications outcomes.
- Complete summer-long training assignments that teach how to produce thoughtful, value-additive research and analyses on strategic topics involving clients, industries, and trends.
- Learn how to manage and stay on top of media coverage, issues, and developments that affect clients.
- Participate in regular professional development sessions hosted by senior-level staff to develop foundational skills and learn more about Kekst CNC’s work and expertise.
- Network and build relationships with colleagues in our New York office and globally.
The program: Our Summer Analyst program is an 8-10 week paid internship, Mondays through Fridays, and we operate on a hybrid schedule with all staff attending our New York office three days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Summer Analysts who excel during the course of their internships and are interested will be offered full-time post-graduation positions at Kekst CNC.
The applicant: We are looking for bright, creative individuals who have excelled academically and in their past professional experiences, and who are eager to quickly grasp the dynamic business matters in which we are involved. Summer Analysts often bring to Kekst CNC a broad, often interdisciplinary range of experiences – ultimately demonstrating a clear interest in strategic and financial communications. Professionals who thrive at Kekst CNC demonstrate a number of valuable qualities:
- Exceptional writing abilities and verbal communication skills.
- Team player and self-starter who can perform under pressure and thrive in unpredictable (but always interesting) client situations and work schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills to complex assignments.
- Highly organized, attentive to detail, and motivated to consistently produce high-quality output.
- Strong interest in business, legal, and policy topics; experience with capital markets is a plus.
- Outstanding academic achievement as well as strong internship, volunteer and/or other professional experience.
