Brief Description
The IT Network Administrator will be responsible for managing, monitoring and troubleshooting the company’s wired and wireless network infrastructure supporting a 24x7 mission-critical environment. These systems are components of IT infrastructure supporting a large e-commerce website, plant operations, delivery logistics and general business services.
The preferred candidate is a self-starter and well-rounded professional with good knowledge in Cisco networking technologies in the routing, switching, security and wireless verticals. The candidate is passionate about technology and eager to work with team members in a fast-paced environment developing solutions supporting business objectives. Candidate will support numerous exciting projects including support for network optimization projects, wireless deployments, infrastructure upgrades etc.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot an enterprise-wide network infrastructure.
- Maintain a complex wired and wireless network infrastructure supporting an E-Commerce environment as well as multiple plant operations, corporate environment, Azure cloud, co-lo data center and remote locations in the tri-state area.
- Develop and document network procedures and processes.
- Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Resolve standard network issues and provide daily routine support using an internal ticketing system.
- Work with multiple internal teams and provide IT Network Engineering support for their various projects.
- Actively monitor the FreshDirect’s enterprise network using network management tools – SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE, Eaton VCOM, Alert Logic etc.
- Proactively evaluate network performance and utilization trends.
- Troubleshoot and resolve physical layer issues – telecom outlets, wiring, wireless connectivity etc.
- Responsible for maintaining the fiber, copper and power cabling standards in the Data Centers (DC), Main Computer Rooms (MCR), Equipment Rooms (ER), Entrance Facilities (EF), Telecom Rooms (TR), Telecom Enclosures (TEs), etc. and keeping a neat and clean environment.
- Responsible for rack and stack of standard network equipment – router, switches, firewalls, UPS, PDU etc.
- Work with vendors to resolve physical security issues – cameras, NVRs, access control etc.
- Work with service providers to resolve circuit issues and escalate carrier issues as necessary.
- Generate vendor quotes for network hardware, software, and support contracts.
- Evaluate current operation processes and documentation, identify areas for improvement, make recommendation, and implement approved enhancements.
- Manage incident in accordance with internal policies and procedures
- Participate in incident post mortem discussions and propose long term solutions
- Part of on-call support rotation to provide 24 x 7 remote and onsite support as required
- Work off-hours/weekends to support business and IT operations
Job Location:
- Onsite Monday to Friday at main corporate office
- Requires travel to remote sites in the tri-state area (3-4 times/month)
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience working as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator
- CCNA Routing and Switching – Preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and hands-on experience supporting an enterprise network environment.
- Experience with switching protocols – VLAN, Spanning-Tree, Trunking, Port-channels, IP Addressing, HSRP etc.
- Experience with routing protocols - EIGRP, BGP etc.
- Experience with installing, configuring and troubleshooting Cisco wireless access points and controllers.
- Experience with troubleshooting various types of circuits (MPLS, DIA etc.).
- Good understanding TCP/IP, SNMPv2c/v3, NTP, AAA, TACACS, SSHv2, RADIUS, DNS, DHCP, LDAP and other standard protocols.
- Experience with industry standard network monitoring, management and packet analysis tools to monitor and troubleshoot network/application performance and connectivity problems (SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE, WireShark, AirMagnet etc.)
- Experience working with installing, configuring and troubleshooting environmental equipment – UPS, PDU, AC Units, Water Leak sensors etc.
- Must be a self-starter able to work independently and with a team
- Must be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Must have strong written and verbal skills
- Must be willing to work off-hours / weekends to support operational tasks as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate with customers, vendors, partners, and business managers across various levels of the organization.
- Well organized, attentive to details and able to meet demanding deadlines
- Good project management skills
Salary range $92,000-$115,575
