Description
You represent the Group IT organization on a local level, and you are the primary contact point for IT topics within USA/Canada for all topics from hardware across software to services and consulting. As such, you are part of the Group IT Team and work closely together with the Local Process Champions (PCs) and the Regional Process Manager (RPM).
Objective
Head of local IT is a function within the Group IT organization that focuses on building and managing relationships between the IT department and other business units or stakeholders, the internal customers. The primary goal of a Head of local IT is to align everything from IT strategies, across annual priorities to daily service delivery with the needs and objectives of the business to drive value and improve overall performance.
Reports to Head of Regional IT.

Skills
- Excellent business acumen, understanding of the business strategy, business needs as well as process obstacles.
- Effective & abstract communication skills translating from business to IT language and vice versa.
- Able to evaluate Use Cases in detail from IT perspective to address a change request.
- Mindset of Simplification, Standardization and Automation.
- ITIL, IT process knowledge, especially service portfolio and project portfolio management.
- Knowledge of the high-level global processes combined with a specific understanding of the software applications involved in the E2E Process.
- Understanding the IT Architecture Landscape, understanding the link between applications and the data exchanged.
- The ability to inspire, guide, and manage IT Support teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Competence in developing and implementing IT Support strategies that align with the overall business strategy, including budget planning and resource allocation.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions that enhance IT service delivery and support business objectives.
- Total 5 - 10 years of management experience (project or line function)
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
Main Responsibilities
- Understanding Business Needs:
Work closely with business units to understand their goals, challenges, and requirements. They act as a liaison between the business and IT, ensuring that IT solutions align with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Advocating for the Business:
Advocate for the needs of the business within the IT department, ensuring that IT initiatives prioritize projects and services that deliver the most value to the organization.
- Communicating IT Services and Solutions:
Communicate IT services, capabilities, and initiatives to business stakeholders in a way that is easily understood and relevant to their needs. They help bridge the gap between technical jargon and business language.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. This involves regular communication, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the business units' operations and priorities.
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from college or university; no less than ten (5) years related experience at the management level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel domestically and internationally in support of Group IT needs.
