As an Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure, the ideal candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting, and maintaining Solix's cloud infrastructure. In addition, the role will focus on ensuring the security of systems and data. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to enhance the organization’s cloud-based services and security posture.
As a member of the team, you will support both on-premises and hosted environments, delivering services to Solix users and clients. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing infrastructure components across on-premises, cloud, and virtual server environments.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage and support cloud infrastructure environments across AWS and Azure platforms.
- Perform routine health checks, maintenance, and optimizations to ensure the efficiency and reliability of cloud-based services.
- Assist with provisioning, monitoring, and configuring virtual machines, storage, and networking resources in AWS and Azure.
- Support cloud migrations, deployments, and integration efforts to ensure seamless transitions and operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud applications, services, and infrastructure components.
- Apply expertise in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) planning and implementation to safeguard systems and data.
- Provision Windows servers and workstations within both AWS and Azure environments.
- Demonstrate an understanding of virtual desktop offerings and their integration within cloud environments.
- Manage storage systems, including disk space management and LUN assignments, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Oversee configuration maintenance, including identifying, testing, and applying necessary service packs, patches, and security updates based on vendor notifications.
- Maintain backup and restore solutions, ensuring data protection and business continuity; create and maintain disaster recovery procedures and perform regular tests.
- Implement replication technologies to facilitate seamless failover and disaster recovery.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus at least two years of related experience; or at least four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology or related technical discipline is highly desired.
- Microsoft, VMware, AWS certifications is a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server and clustering.
- Advanced knowledge of VMware virtualization platform, with hands-on experience in managing and optimizing virtualized environments.
- Strong understanding of storage technologies, including SAN and LUN management.
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies, covering compute, storage, load balancers, traffic gateways, and security services.
- Proficient in SSL certificate management and encryption protocols to ensure secure communication.
- Hands-on experience with traffic management solutions, such as load balancers and web filtering appliances.
- Skilled in using backup, system patching, and monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and security.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, and server security.
- Proven ability to coordinate day-to-day activities for assigned projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with team members and project stakeholders.
