Summary Of Position
The
Data Engineer will be a member of the Digital Transformation team at Core States and report to the Manager of that group. The Data Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining a Microsoft Fabric data environment and supporting analytics by developing PowerBI reports. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure data integrity, optimize data workflows, and provide actionable insights through data visualization. The role will require the ability to understand a variety of data sources, including accounting, project management and AEC design data.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a Microsoft Fabric data environment.
- Build and optimize notebooks, data pipelines and warehouses.
- Develop and maintain PowerBI reports to support business analytics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Write and execute validation tests to ensure data quality and integrity across all data sources.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering and analytics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology or related field.
- Writing and deployment of Azure Data Fabric dataflows or similar, such as Fabric notebooks and pipelines or AWS equivalents.
- Understanding of structured data schemas and using SQL to read and alter data.
- Familiarity with managing data warehouses or lakehouses using the extract-transform-load process from multiple sources.
- Practice writing and executing data validation techniques to ensure quality of data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric and PowerBI.
- Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and data modeling.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Team
You will work with our Innovation and Technology team and report to our Digital Transformation Manager.
