This is an excellent role for someone who wants to work as part of a team, with a wide array of technology, to implement and manage custom Linux servers and applications.

Key Skills:

Solid understanding of Linux (the kernel, processes, permissions, filesystem hierarchy, IPtables, SELINUX)
Networking knowledge of DHCP, DNS, IP addressing
Understanding Cloud Concepts
Identifying, resolving and documenting operational issues [Troubleshooting]
Experience and knowledge of troubleshooting web and application services in a LAMP stack
Experience with Bind
Apache
Understanding implementation of SSL certificates
MySQL and/or PostgreSQL build and administration
Comfortable with Bash scripting
Creating and maintaining system documentation
Advise of Linux best practices

Skills Required

Desirable Criteria

Networking experience
Chef Automation
Central management of servers using applications such as Spacewalk
Degree qualification in a Computer Science related subject
Firewalls [Juniper / Cisco]
VMware VCP
