IT – System Administrator

The IT System Administrator is responsible for overseeing company IT infrastructure, enhancing system performance, ensuring security, and supporting cloud migrations. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively independently and as a team. The IT System Administrator works closely with other departments within the corporate office.

Essential Functions

Provide customers with Southern Way Service at all times
Administer and maintain Server environments, ensuring security, performance, and availability.
Manage Active Directory, including user account provisioning, group policy management, and permissions.
Implement and oversee next-gen endpoint protection solutions.
Manage virtualization technologies and utilize orchestration for disaster recovery solutions.
Utilize automated solutions for efficient backup and recovery processes, ensuring data reliability.
Oversee Azure and Entra for identity and access management in cloud environments.
Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
Participate in cloud migration projects, assisting with planning and execution.
Configure and manage next-gen firewalls to ensure network security and integrity.
Maintain and support SaaS POS applications.
Ensure optimal Wi-Fi network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular system updates.
Oversee document systems configurations, processes, and best practices.
Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
Stay up-to-date with networking concepts and security best practices and trends.
Any additional functions assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
1+ years of experience in IT systems administration; 3+ years preferred.
Preferred experience includes:
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and group policy management.
- Experience with next-gen antivirus solutions.
- Proficiency in virtualization and replication.
- Familiarity with backup solutions.
- Experience with Azure/Entra and Microsoft 365 services.
- Knowledge of cloud migration processes and strategies.
- Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
- Familiarity with networking concepts and security best practices.
- Experience with firewalls and network security principles.
- Wi-Fi network management experience.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+) preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work flexible hours to meet deadlines.

Physical Demands

Primarily office-based with occasional remote work.
Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Extended sitting at a workstation and frequent use of office equipment (computers, keyboards, phones).
Ability to read and interpret detailed written information.
Manual dexterity required for using computer equipment and tools.
Occasional walking, standing, and participation in meetings (both virtual and in-person).
Visual and auditory focus is needed to read data on screens and printed documents.
Occasional travel for project meetings, site visits, or conferences, if applicable.
