A bit about the role…

As a Software Developer at Solink, you'll play a key role in driving operational excellence across our Engineering organization. You'll collaborate closely with software teams to enhance Cloud Environments, CI/CD, Security, Cost Optimization, and more. Beyond strategy, you'll also be hands-on—executing processes, scripts, and tools to upgrade devices across our fleet, manage customer lifecycle actions, and streamline operations. We're looking for a passionate software developer with operational experience who’s eager to dive deep into code, improve our operational and security posture, and automate existing tooling and workflows. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and love solving complex challenges, this role is for you!

WHO YOU ARE:

You have 5-10 years of experience in software development, cloud infrastructure, and operational excellence, preferably with AWS.
You take ownership and can work independently, diving deep into complex technical challenges and solving them efficiently.
You excel under pressure and have experience handling critical incidents like production-down issues with a calm and methodical approach.
You are comfortable working in CI/CD environments and have experience with multi-environment pipelines, automation, and cloud cost optimization.
You have strong collaboration skills, working closely with R&D, Cloud Platform, and Security teams to enhance operational efficiency across the organization.
You are passionate about mentorship and knowledge-sharing, influencing engineering best practices across teams.

Bonus if you…

Have AWS certifications, especially AWS Security Cert or experience with security-focused AWS services (e.g., SecurityHub, GuardDuty, Trusted Advisor).
Have experience working with Terraform, CDK, Ansible, or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
Have experience with incident response and change management in an operational environment.
Have worked with security tooling, such as code security scanners, penetration testing tools, or vulnerability assessment platforms.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;
Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;
Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Improve operational excellence by analyzing, planning, and developing automated solutions that enhance security, CI/CD pipelines, cost optimization, and cloud efficiencies.
Automate manual and semi-automated operational tasks to reduce human intervention, increase reliability, and improve scalability.
Collaborate with the Platform Cloud Infra team to enhance cloud infrastructure (e.g., VPC, networking, firewalls, container tooling) and leverage AWS operational tools like Personal Health Dashboard, Trusted Advisor, and SecurityHub.
Drive organization-wide security and DevSecOps improvements by leading campaigns, implementing policies, and refining tooling.
Optimize cloud costs by identifying inefficiencies, implementing cost-saving measures, and working closely with engineering teams to maintain a lean cloud footprint.
Influence engineering best practices by promoting DevOps and SecOps methodologies, improving documentation, and driving secure software development practices.
Support fleet-wide device upgrades and manage critical operational processes to ensure seamless security and performance improvements across customer environments.
