Job Title: Enterprise Technician | Decatur, Georgia

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:

The objective of this requirement is to provide Temporary Personnel Services for daily employment services in support of the operation of Dekalb County in Georgia. County departments will require the services of temporary personnel to assist with special projects of a time-limited nature, to fill in for staff on vacation or extended leave, and/or to assist during periods of peak activity. Skills test may be administered to assess proficiency levels.

The Enterprise Technicianis responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a company's IT Infrastruce, including hardware, software, and network systems, by diagnosing and resolving technical issues for end-users, setting up new systems, and ensuring smooth operation of critical IT applications across the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
Three years of experience in Systems Administration.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.

PREFERRED

Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
Proficiency in network administration (LAN, WAN, firewalls)
Experience with system management tools and scripting languages
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills to interact with users of varying technical abilities
Bilingual a plus (but not a requirement)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks include, but are not limited to, additional duties as assigned.

Provides computer hardware and software support on LAN - or Cloud-based systems; receives and responds to requests for service; troubleshoots problems; performs diagnostics and root cause analysis on multiple platforms; identifies problems and issues; resolves problems and issues; executes patches and fixes; makes recommendations regarding procedures and controls for problem prevention; develops checklists for typical problems for service-desk knowledge and tracking database; escalates problems to upper level support personnel when necessary; and maintains all related documentation.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Normal working hours are 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.

During the assignment, temporary personnel shall not work for any period over eight (8) hours per day for a maximum of forty (40) hours per week without prior authorization.

DeKalb County government observes eleven (11) holidays during each calendar year: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Whenever a County-observed holiday occurs on Saturday, the previous Friday will be observed. Whenever a County-observed holiday occurs on Sunday, the Monday following will be observed.
